The Cooler (1982)
 
 

 

The Cooler was a short promo film directed by Kevin Godley and Lol Creme and it was originally made as a promo video for "Private Property" from Ringo’s solo album "Stop And Smell The Roses".

It was filmed in southwest London in mid-January 1981 by Paul McCartney’s MPL Communications and stars both Paul and Linda, along with Ringo’s new wife, Barbara Bach. 

In the film conceived by Paul McCartney, Ringo portrayed a habitual escapee who is caught and thrown into the Cooler where he fantasies about his circumstance and the commandant, played by his wife, the actress Barbara Bach.

"The Cooler' was the official British entry in the short film category at the Cannes Film Festival on 24 May 1982.
